Figuring it all out

As this year is winding down and coming to a close, it is time for me to start thinking about this summer and the future. As I am quickly approaching getting into the real world, I need to figure out just what it is I want to do, and where I would like to eventually be in the future.

This summer, I will be interning in California with Richard Delancy, a manager that works with talent. I will be putting out auditions and setting up interviews and auditions. I will also be taking some acting classes with Richard as well as with casting director Stephen Snyder. This summer should be a valuable learning experience.

As far as my senior project goes, I am still thinking about it. I thought about making a video that the Humane Society could run in their lobby. I'm not so sure I want to take that on though, so I am still thinking of other ideas.

After graduating in December, I plan on returning to my new home in California. While out there, I plan to see what kind of jobs I can find because I really would like to work in the Entertainment business rather than news. Because January starts pilot season, I will hopefully find a place to start in the business. I would like to look into voiceover work because I have a very unique voice and a person that is willing to show me the ropes. Depending on whether or not anything comes of pilot season, I plan to attend graduate school in the following fall.

In five years from now, I would really like to be established within the entertainment business. I am not yet sure what exactly I want to be doing, but I think it will probably be in casting, managing, or something of the sort, unless I catch a big break somewhere along the way. Hopefully the skills I've learned at Westminster College will help me in the real world.

That's it for now. Happy finals week!

Kirstan :)
